Hello! In addition to being the Speech Language Pathologist for Meridian, I am also a resident of this wonderful neighborhood. My kids began attending Meridian the year it opened and I was active on the PTO Board for several years. I have wanted to work at this school for the past 10 years…and my dream finally came true in 2012! I am thrilled to be working with my friends and family in the community here at Meridian. FYI: I also serve students at four other schools in the district (Crossroads MS, Vantage Point HS, Vista View MS/HS and ASTAR (Adult Supported Transition and Recreation program for 18 to 21 year olds with significant needs). Luckily, I am at Meridian four days a week (M/T/Th/F).
I am originally from Dallas, Texas and relocated to Colorado 10 years ago. I attended The University of Texas to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication (’86). Then I headed to The University of Houston to get my Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders (’88). I immediately returned to Dallas where I worked in the public schools for 10 years. I simultaneously worked at The Burtis Speech and Language Center as a private Speech Therapist for 10 years. I then had my 2 darling daughters, Grace and Dinah in ’99 and ‘01. I did however, dabble in a few hours of private speech therapy a week, while being a stay at home mom. When my girls were in school full time, I was hired by Adams 12 and taught in the Early Childhood Preschool Program for 5 years. Whew! In my free time I love to be “craftsy”! I love cooking, reading (Harry Potter!), and laughing with friends and family.
