Welcome! My name is Erin Dupper and I am lucky to be a First Grade teacher at Meridian. In the past, I have taught Fourth, Fifth and Second grade here as well as being the school's Student Achievment Coach. I left for a year to be a District Math Coach. I have been at Meridian since it opened as a parent and then as a teacher. I know that the education and experiences that my own children received at this wonderful school have set them up for long term success.
I graduated from the University of Central Florida in December of 1991, with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. In 1994, I added an Early Childhood endorsement to my teaching certificate. I am currently licensed in Colorado to teach Kindergaten through Sixth grade. In 2010, I added my Masters in Reading through Grand Canyon University. I am constantly adding to my teacher knowledge through classwork and professional growth opportunities.
My teaching philosophy is simple. I believe that every child has the right and the ability to learn. My job is to teach them to be thinkers and problem solvers. I am not here to just teach a curriculum, but to teach how that curriculm affects them and their future. I am here to teach children that they can use information to form opinions and make quality decisions. I want them to have skills to become leaders of the future.
