Dear Meridian Community,

We hope you enjoyed your weekend with your family and friends. We're very excited to be here to welcome back our students each Monday morning. 

We wanted to reach out to you regarding our 2019 Scholarship program for High School seniors currently set to graduate from high school this spring. We're excited to continue this tradition and we need your help in getting the information out. Each year, we offer two scholarships based on merit to previous 5th grade students who attended Meridian throughout their entire 5th grade year. These students must currently be enrolled in an Adams 12 Five Star High school. We're excited to support our Meridian Mustang scholars. Here are the qualifications which are also outlined on the application:

2019 Meridian Elementary School - PTO Scholarship Program for eligible graduating seniors from Adams 12 Five Star High Schools


The Meridian Elementary School PTO Scholarship Program is an annual award that was established to recognize previous Meridian Elementary School students who demonstrate excellence pertaining to two of our school’s core values: Leadership and Community Service. Two $1,000 Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors from any of the Adams 12 Five Star school district’s high schools. Applicants must have attended Meridian throughout their entire 5th grade school year to be eligible. Awards are merit based and will be applied directly to the selected institution for tuition purposes only.

Eligibility (verifiable):

• Must have previously attended Meridian Elementary School throughout their entire 5th grade school year.

• Must be a candidate for high school graduation from an Adams 12 Five Star High School in the Spring Semester of the year applying maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.500 or higher (through 7th Semester).

• Show demonstrated positions of responsibility in leadership roles in community service, volunteerism, and extra-curricular activities throughout all 4 years of high school.

• Must be accepted and enrolled to attend any 2 or 4 year post-secondary, accredited college, university, or trade school (provide a copy of acceptance letter or other proof of enrollment with application).

• Recipients must agree to make a short speech to the students at the Meridian Elementary School Fifth Grade Continuation currently planned to take place on Thursday, May 23, 2019.

About The Meridian PTO

The Meridian PTO’s goal is to facilitate a positive relationship between our parents, teachers, administrators and our local community. All Meridian teachers and parents of enrolled students are automatically in the PTO, whether you volunteer or not, but we are always looking for parents who want to be involved.

PTO meetings are held in the 5th grade flex area from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Free childcare and pizza are provided. Please view the calendar for upcoming meetings.
