2026 Meridian Elementary School - PTO Scholarship Program 

The Meridian Elementary School PTO Scholarship Program is an annual award that was established to recognize previous Meridian Elementary School students who demonstrate excellence pertaining to two of our school’s core values: Leadership and Community Service. Two (2) $1,500 Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors from any Adams 12 high school. Applicants must have finished 5th grade as a Meridian student to be eligible. Awards are merit based and will be applied directly to the selected institution for tuition purposes only. 

Eligibility(verifiable)

• Must have previously attended Meridian Elementary School throughout their fifth grade year. 

• Must be a candidate for high school graduation in an Adams 12 5 Star District High School for the Spring Semester of the year applying, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (through 7th Semester). 

• Show demonstrated positions of responsibility in leadership roles, community service, and extra-curricular activities throughout high school. 

• Must be accepted and enrolled to attend any 2 or 4 year post-secondary, accredited college, university, or trade school (provide a copy of acceptance letter or other proof of enrollment with application). 

• Recipients must agree to deliver a short speech to the students at the Meridian Elementary School during their 5th grade continuation on May 21st at 1:00pm. This speech should be no longer than five minutes long.

Applications will be reviewed anonymously by a committee composed of stakeholders of Meridian Elementary School and its PTO. Applications received after the deadline, or deemed incomplete, will not be considered. Personal interviews may be included in the final selection process. Applications must be completed legibly. The application rubric includes scoring for following instructions and completeness. Computer reproduction of the application is allowed as long as it does not alter the application or exceed the following three pages. Be sure to sign the bottom of Page 4 on the application.

Applicants who have been awarded the 2026 Meridian Scholarship will be notified regarding final outcomes by May 1, 2026.  Scholarship payments will be sent directly to the selected educational institutions and applied directly to the student's account, paying for tuition/fees only. The scholarship award shall be made as a $1,500 one-time grant and is not renewable. Should the student choose not to attend or withdraw from the institution, unused funds must be returned to the Meridian Elementary School PTO.
