I was raised in the Adams 12 Five Star School District and am a proud graduate of Thornton High School. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, a minor in Reading as well as my Elementary Education Teaching Endorsement from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Following my student teaching of 5th grade students, I taught students in first through fourth grade including a three year “loop” where the children and I remained together in the same class from first through third grade. These teaching experiences, in both Adams 12 and Adams 50, allowed me to understand the developmental needs of students as they progress through elementary school and the opportunity to enhance effective instructional strategies. Upon completing my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Denver, I have been privileged to serve as the Principal of Meridian Elementary, the Assistant Principal of Coronado Hills Elementary, Stellar Elementary, and Meridian Elementary in Adams 12 as well as the Principal of F.M. Day Elementary in Adams 50.
On a more personal note, my wife and I have two children. My son and daughter both currently attend their neighborhood elementary school in the Adams 12 school district. We enjoy attending D.U. basketball games, watching Philadelphia Phillies baseball games, and visiting the Museum of Nature and Science, the Butterfly Pavilion, and the Denver Zoo. I also volunteer my free time on the weekends in the winter and summer coaching the North Metro Eagles Special Olympics basketball and softball teams.
