My name is Maile Monk and I am the school psychologist for Meridian Elementary. I completed my doctorate work at the University of Northern Colorado in School Psychology with a doctoral minor in Applied Statistics and Research Methods. I focus on building a broad range of social and emotion skills with students while encouraging a lifelong love of learning. My specific research interests include the areas of academic stress and executive functioning, with an emphasis on the relationships among excessive levels of stress, attention, working memory, and academic achievement.
I am a Colorado native with a true love for our mountains. Some of my favorite hobbies include archery, hiking, camping, dance, snowshoeing, and exploring with my partner, Christopher. We have two pups, Yoshi and Bowser, who love to join us on any and every adventure, as well as a cat who enjoys spending time at home. I am thrilled to be a Meridian Mustang and try my best to pass along my enthusiasm for our community to our students. Please feel free to drop me a line, phone or email, with any questions you may have about supporting our students.
